Monthly Spending Cap
$9.99/month. No exceptions. By design.
How it works
Every SuspenzBox account has an automatic spending cap of $9.99 per calendar month. This means that no matter how many coins you buy or subscriptions you have, your account cannot spend more than $9.99 in a single month on SuspenzBox.
What happens when you reach the cap?
The moment your monthly spending hits $9.99, your account automatically receives the full VIP experience for the rest of the calendar month, at no additional charge:
- Ad-free viewing
- 4K streaming quality
- Early access to new episodes (24h ahead)
- Offline downloads
We send you an email and an in-app notification when this happens. There's no paperwork, no opt-in, nothing to do. It's automatic.
What can you do above the cap?
Nothing. You can't buy more coins. You can't upgrade your subscription. The SuspenzBox ecosystem is structurally incapable of charging you more than $9.99 in a calendar month.
If you want to be charged more — for instance, to support the platform — we can't accommodate that. Sorry.
When does the cap reset?
On the 1st day of each calendar month, at 00:00 UTC. Your spending counter resets to $0, and your VIP gift expires (unless you have an active subscription, in which case your subscription continues normally).
What counts toward the cap?
Two things count toward your monthly cap:
- Coin pack purchases. Single episodes ($0.29), pack 5 ($1.29), pack 20 ($4.99), or pack 50 ($9.99) — all of these increment your monthly spending counter.
- VIP subscriptions. If you subscribe to VIP Monthly ($5.99) or VIP Annual ($49.99), the per-month equivalent ($5.99 monthly or $4.16 annual prorata) counts toward your cap.
What does NOT count toward your cap:
- Watching rewarded ads (these unlock episodes for free, no charge)
- Browsing and viewing free content
- Anything you didn't pay for
Why is the cap hidden by default?
We thought about making the cap visible — a progress bar showing "you're $3.40 away from VIP." It sounds transparent. But it would gamify spending: users would push toward the cap to get the gift, buying coins they didn't need.
So we keep the counter invisible by default. But the counter is real, and you can see it anytime in your account settings. Settings → Account → Monthly Spending shows your current month's spend, your transaction history, and the cap status.
Why $9.99?
$9.99 is our commitment line. It's roughly what a drama fan would naturally spend in a month if left unchecked. It's the threshold where, in our own use-testing, people started worrying about their bill mid-month.
We anchored the cap just under that tension on purpose. Below $9.99 you can fall for a series and not regret it next pay-day. Above it, you'd start hesitating before each watch — and we don't want hesitation between you and a good story.
Is this trustworthy?
The cap is enforced at the database level, per account, per calendar month. It's checked on every transaction by our server architecture. It's not a marketing promise, it's a technical guarantee.
Spend $9.99 with us this month, and tell us what happens. We invite verification.
What about existing subscriptions priced higher?
If you subscribed to SuspenzBox before May 2026, your subscription was priced at $9.99/month or $89.99/year (legacy V1 pricing). Apple and Google force us to maintain these prices for existing subscribers — you continue to be billed at your original price.
If you cancel and resubscribe, your new subscription will be at the V4 Fair Drama price ($5.99/month or $49.99/year).
